volca bass midi start

hello mpc forums,

long time reader here, but this problem i just cant seem to find a soltuion to...

ich have connestetd my volca bass to the mpc 1000 via midi, the thing is i want to sequence the bass in the mpc and NOT use its internal sequencer. no prolem until here, but as soon as i press start on the mpc the volca starts its internal sequencer.
so my question is: can i disable this function or is the only solution to clear the volcas sequencer?

Turn off MIDI sync going to the Volca. you don't need it anyway, since you're sequencing on the mpc.

I believe you can also start it up while holding the memory or function key (I forget which) to access various settings, one of which iirc is whether it listens to an external clock.
