I'm about to buy new gear and was wondering if anyone worked in the same way as what I'm going to do and is it as backwards as what it sounds?….

So at the moment I'm just using my turntable set up and an mpc 1000 with jjos3xlcd but I'm wanting to take advantage of the deal that N.I have on Komplete at the moment which is £319….very cheap in my eyes.

I'm also looking at getting the focusrite 6i6 soundcard and the Alesis Q25 midi keyboard. The way I want to do things (which may seem strange?) is to sample from komplete straight into the mpc and edit and sequence the samples just how I would from vinyl….it's not like I'm totally anti software or anything, hence the Komplete purchase, it's just that I want to carry on sampling straight into my mpc and sequencing in the mpc…

I realise though that this might leave me with a problem, my set up will go something like, turntables into Z2 mixer, Z2 OUT into Focusrite IN, Focusrite OUT into MPC IN and then MPC OUT into Monitor IN. The problem will arise when it comes to me wanting to track my beats out into a daw I think?? Am I right in thinking I'll have to do some cable swapping when I want to track out? I know I could go out of the mpc individual outs and back into the inputs I have left on the Focusrite but wouldn't that cause a big feedback loop?

sorry I just started going off there….

if anyone else works like this please let me know…

Thanks!

Yes. Or get a patchbay.

But really, why spend over £300 on Komplete if you're not going to be using it? Use the MIDI controller through the MPC to programme Komplete.

I will be using it, in fact I just came across an interview when researching komplete an Marco Polo uses komplete in that exact same way.

I still might consider your advice though.

Thanks
