Hey

Looking at getting a Roland RE20 to go with the 60 for delays. Can anyone recommend a dirty cheap reverb unit? I make deep house mainly...Cheers

Look for an Alesis Midiverb/Quadraverb on ebay maybe. Those are good and cheap.

I've even found one of the older models on my Craig's List in the give-away section.

(...wish another would pop up)

I just bought a korg drv 1000 for reverb. It cost me 40 euro in the Netherlands ;) Just received it yesterday so i will check the quality this weekend.. :-D
Its a 1986 model and apparantly only has mono input with stereo outs, which i didnt expect (the mono in part).
I hope the plate reverb will sound nice on my snares and vocals (underground samplebased hiphop).

If u like i can post the outcome of the sound check..

Peace

I'd recommend you spend as much as you can on reverb. Nothing will cheapen your sound more than a bad quality reverb processor IMO.

Dude go for it. Yeah $300 is expensive, but it sounds amazing. very versatile, too, with its 3 modes on each of 3 types of reverb. I find myself using every single combination, they're all distinct with their own appropriate uses.

Also it looks nice. :)

The BOSS RE-20 space echo is super sick. Got mine cheap cause the morons at guitar center forgot to change the price tag. But still a great pedal. Next the SL-20.

I've wanted a real Space Echo ever since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. A relative of mine down the tree had one (or someone in his band did) and I would sit transfixed watching the tape up at the top bob & weave.

Every time I see one that is 'modestly' priced I quickly find out that it is basically FUBAR. The first time I heard one on my snare drum mic I just about shat myself & jizzed simultaneously.

I know I would give my left ball for a real space echo. You could fart into it and that would sound amazing. The BOSS is nice. But nothing beats the real thing.

A guitar player in an old band of mine had one of the stompboxes and it was pretty cool! My jaw didn't drop quite the same but it was a really nice delay.

The original is one of those pieces of gear that is just as fun to play with as it is to jam the f*ck out sometimes. A mic + the RE was the ambiance of many-a motavational break
