MPC 2000xl/ Akai DPS 12 Combo?

Hey there! I've just picked up a dusty akai DPS 12, for free. I have a MPC 2000xl and i was thinking that mabye a midi cable or two, could make the DPS 12 able to work together with the MPC ?
I have checked google, and it appears that alot of people are using the DPS 12's LCD screen as spare part, for the MPC 2000xl..

Does any of you have any experience with such a combo?

I don't have any experience with the DPS12. But from what I understand, you can sync it as a master to the MPC to record. If you have the 8 outs on the MPC, you should be able to record all the outs from the MPC at once. Also, the DPS display can be used on the 2k and the 2kxl. But you need to modify the ribbon cable in order for it to work. There should be more info in the MPC2000XL/2000 sub forum.

No doubt. This forum was originally named MPC Studio Environments, so it's still essentially the same forum. But Tutor probably renamed it to eliminate any confusion with the MPC Studio DAW/controller users that may be new here. Either way, whether you were using the DPS 12 with the 2KXL or another piece of gear, you're in the right place.
