Hi all !
Yesterday, I copped my first "real" mixing console (I came from a little Yamaha MG102C, which was quite nice in my opinion) for a real bargain price from my local kind of craigslist. So I tested this beautiful Soundcraft 200B that was sitting in its flight case for quite a long time as the seller told me. All the 16 channels were working with no extreme "hum" or "blowing" and I didn't notice any cracking noise by turning the EQs.
There were just one problem, and I think it comes from the master channel or the power supply : I get this intermittent random noises when I raise the volume on the 1-2 or 3-4 outputs (also hearing it through the headphones output)
(don't mind my silly vibrating phone at the beginning and at the end of the sample)
It was there a little bit when I tested it, but it stopped, so I thought "Erh, f*** it, I'll take it" knowing that in the worst case, I could easily sell all the channels separetly off ebay and get my money back.
So the question is : any idea of where it might come from? I just want a general direction in order to repair it myself. Might be the ground to resolder? Or something like that? Oh, by the way, I already looked all over the internet but didn't found a matching description of what I'm hearing from this console.
I'm quite a newbie in term of schematics and everything but I'm eager to learn how to fix that kind of things by myself. (I own a soldering iron)
