I'm using FL Studio, but I'm learning the basics of Ableton Live 9 right and I have a question about side-chaining during live play with my MicroKorg synth.
If I record a drum sequence from my MPC 1000 and it is as 1 clip, not individual hits within the FL Studio sequencer... how would side chaining work, if I'm trying to play in a synth/bass line from my MicroKorg? Would FL Studio see the drum loop clip as only 1 hit and would only activate the side chain for the very first kick?
For instance.. I have a simple clip that has 4 kicks, rendered to a single .wav file, that is imported to FL Studio. I setup a compressor to chain the kicks to my MicroKorg that I'll be playing into FL Studio in real time live. Would FL Studio only chain the very first kick and leave the other 3 kicks alone?
How would I achieve real time side chaining with my external keyboards and modules?
