Cakewalk Dropout Issues

Good afternoon all. When I record my tracks into Sonar Cakewalk, sometimes it stops and says dropout. Then I have to start recording it all over again. Does this have something to do with buffer size? Playback buffer size? audio rec buffer size? Michael Buffer size? It sucks. When I track each individual instrument seperate, one at a time, I rarely have problems. How do I resolve this?? I tend to stray from computer recording and $hit like this is the reason why. However, I have to move with the times. Any help would be appreciated.
