i'd like to make beats on the mpc, get them into .wav format and then bring them into Ableton Live and apply FX in realtime.

I understand you can apply all types of FX and set them up to 8 Macro knobs in Ableton Live. My question is... would a NanoKontrol 2 be able to control the Macro Knobs in realtime.

For instance, could I have a track playing on loop inside Ableton and have a Stutter effect setup on Macro knob #1 and turn the first knob on the NanoKontrol 2 and it would be the same as if I turned the Macro knob with my mouse?

I've been researching this stuff for days on my own and it's about to run me nut

(PS, I think I would be having my Macros setup with different FX on the Ableton Master channel, that way I could apply the same FX throughout a live set for all the different songs in the mix)

Does this all seem right and would the NanoKontrol 2 be able to control the macros like this?

I use the NanoKontrol in my setup. And yes you can map many controls to it. I map all the knobs and sliders to my racks and then map the on/off switch to the transport controls. Its like a punch in controller for FX. And I don't put anything on the master channel,I use send channels. leave the master clean. It's better for when your mixing down and mastering.

cool, thank you for the reply!

I'm not to worried about mixdown, because everything will be finished songs, I would just be playing the finished songs live and adding live FX over the top and I suppose just routing a separate mix through to a stereo channel and record the whole live set to a stereo track.

but if the NanoKontrol can do this stuff, then I'll look into a picking one up. thanks again. the on/off switch method could be cool, I think I saw a tutorial of someone doing that last night on youtube. I'll have to go back and watch it again
