Bass Sound Module

After doing a lot of research, I've found out that all i really need is a sound module that can produce different sorts of deep booming bass that is used in hip hop tracks. What kind of sound module is recommended in this case?
I would want something that i could control thru my MPC.

if you want to get second-hand stuff, there's the Novation Bass Station. Or you can get a brand new MicroKorg for about the same price or a Korg MS2000 (which is the same as the MicroKorg, but with a full-sized keyboard and more knobs to control the sounds and about 200 bucks more). These can get you good bass and can be controlled by MIDI, but you have to program these, they're not ROMplers like the Motifs, Tritons, Fantoms, etc.

Also you could get a Moog, which mostly don't have MIDI, but can be controlled by MIDI using a DIN->MIDI converter box. You most definitely will get great bass from any Moog, but it'll hit you in the wallet, except for the lower-end models. Also, if you end up buying a Moog, make sure it's in great condition, they're 20+ years old.

If money is not tight, i'd get a Studio Electronics se-1.

for something cheap try roland's mbd-1 an older model but has some good sounding bass and bass guitars

How about the synth from Korg, the EA-1 or something? Professional sounding hip hop bass in that one?

Don't go with the EA1 - I got one and consider it a big mistake (even though it was cheap) Sounds cheap, sounds digital, better choices out there.

I got the emu mophatt.....nice and cheap and will do the job, plus you get some extras.........but

ive read taht alot of producers get good bass from the ms2000.....including dre.

yeah i got one i love it. the basses are nice and warm and u can tweak the shit outta it.

Best bass modules IMO are analog units, like the SE-1X or a Moog. The new Moog Voyager has MIDI I believe, but I think that thing is like $3000. Look into Studio Electronics equipment and Moog if you have the money. If not, there's a lot of VA modules made by Novation, Nord, and Access. The Virus is a good VA module IMO.

the bass is incredible

soft synth wise, Trilogy not a bad option
