MPC + Midi chain

Equipment
-MPC 1000
-2x Moog Slim Phatties
-Mackie mixer with MPC and Sp's feeding separate audio channels

I want to use the MPC's pads to "play" or "trigger" the Moog SP's.

I want to use Moog SP #1 for bass and Moog SP #2 for lead, sequenced on separate tracks on the MPC.

To save room on MIDI Out connections on the MPC, would this setup work:

--MPC MIDI Out "A" -> Moog SP #1 MIDI In (Moog SP #1 transmits MIDI over MIDI A1)
--Moog SP #1 MIDI Thru -> Moog SP #2 MIDI In (Moog SP #2 transmit MIDI over MIDI A2)
--MPC sequence track 1, set to MIDI Track A1 (this would be my bass from SP #1)
--MPC sequence track 2, set to MIDI Track A2 (this would be my lead from SP #2)

Yep, you got it, that will work.. Even better though, run from SP#1 Midi out into #2 and then from #2 out back into the 1000. Then turn on soft thru on both SPs and set their output channels to the same as their input ones. This way you can tweak the knobs in real time and record it in your sequences (put them on a separate track from the notes) - pretty cool, and makes the end result a lot more dynamic.

Down the line, if I wanted to add a multitimbral keyboard synth (Access Virus B/C) and have it be used as controller instead of MPC pad's for the modules and record the modules knob and filter tweaks, would I just run MIDI Out from the keyboard synth to the MPC MIDI In & then THRU from the Virus keyboard to MIDI In of the Phatty #1,etc.

MPC MIDI Out “A” -> Virus MIDI In
Virus MIDI Out -> MPC MIDI In “1”
Virus MIDI Thru -> Phatty #1 MIDI In
Phatty #1 Thru -> Phatty #2 MIDI In

Assuming all MIDI channels & tracks are set correctly in the machines, this routing would let me hit record on the MPC..... press a key on the Virus & trigger say, the Phatty #1..... tweak a Phatty filter..... and have that filter tweak & the Phatty notes played, be recorded on the MPC?
