Hi there, I am after some help/advice. I have an Akai S950 that I love the sound of (and the AD/DA convertors) and don't ever want to get rid of. However I'm using it less and less as it is slowing down my work flow. I want to be able to record into it and transfer the recordings onto my Mac so that I can edit in say Propellorheads Recyle and then export back to the S950 (so that I can use the filter etc). Chicken Systems Translator doesn't seem to support the Akai S900 or the S950 as far as I can see? I've considered various ways of doing this - maybe buying an S1000 with Scsi so that I could maybe export to my Mac and then use Chicken System Translator. But I'm not sure if I would lose something in the transfer from S950 to S1000 or back?

I have come across a blog that details how you can transfer via midi http://akai-s900.blogspot.co.uk/2008/01 ... to-pc.html does anyone use this method? Does anyone know how quick it is? This also means I've gotta use set up a PC. Is this maybe the answer?

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :-)

Thanks derMole. Yeah that is definitely an option. I wanted to ideally keep the coloration of the S950 and use its Analog to Digital convertors and Digital to Analog convertors. Don't some Mpc users their Mpc this way?
