I have been using yamaha aw16g with mpc2000xl for about eight months. They were in sync perfectly and now all of a sudden for no apparent reason the timing has drifted apart and will not sync. It has happened once before and miraculously fixed itself but it doesnt seem to be fixing itself this time unfortunately. Here is the set up info- Midi cable from out of the G to in of MPC. AW16 G- midi out-on. MMC master-on. MTC master-on. Frame rate 30. tempo- 120. MPC2000xl sync in 1- MMC framerate 30-on. MMC -on. Tempo 120. I have also tried midi clock on both but it made no difference and I also tried the offset settings on the aw16g which made no difference. Its got me baffled and very dissappointed. Can anyone out there offer any advice or even suggest where I might find help either on the net or in Sydney, Australia? Thanks

Odd.
I can't think of any reason but a faulty midicable/connection. MTC and Midi Clock send a lot of data through the cable, even though normal midinotes may play ok, if there's a slight problem with the cable this will show with syncing first.

thanks for the tip but Ive already tried that, it didnt make any difference. Do you think it could be the actual port where you plug in?

Unless you've dropped one of the unit's or something that's not likely. I've got midigear that's reallly olde, and it still works. Besides, you still woudn't know if it was your mpc or the recorder that trippin'.
Troubleshoot it first by using another mpc, (or recorder).
