I was about to transfer some tracks from the mpc 2000 xl onto my PC-Audiophile2496 sound card-
I plugged the digital cable in the out of the mpc and went to digi IN on the Audiophile card.
But , no matter what I do the computer does not seem to receive any signal.
I tried sending digital signal from the PC to my MPC and that worked.
However trying to record tracks from the sampler to PC is not happening.
I am running win98 se with standard M-Audio drivers that came with the card.
Anybody any suggestions?
peace.

where are you recording? what software?

did you choose the right input/recording channels (spdif - not your analog ones) in your recording software?

the problem is I do not even see any levels going on my M-audio bundled mixer when checking the SPDIF inputs.
So I figure it is not with the software.
I tried both with CoolEdit and Nuendo.
Maybe MPC has to be activated to send digital or something. I have checked the specs but nothing is really there..

I don't know the audiophile's mixer.

but I found this: http://www.ixbt.com/multimedia/m-audio-audiophile/cp2.png

you should really check all your settings in your control panel to see if the problem is there - sometimes it's just a tiny little damn checkmark that got overlooked.

the mpc manual states that the s/pdif output is the same as the stereo out.
it should work by default.
