A crazy idea I'm now obsessed with...

Is it possible to run our effect plugins and virtual instruments from an external SSD, therefore freeing up space from our internal SSD?

Depends on your DAW, but many allow for multiple directories...

Also on Mac, since it has an underlying filesystem that supports symbolic links... you could just move a directory to an external SSD, and then symlink it back over. Can be a hassle to get it right if you don't know how to do this, but absolutely possible.

What mac are you running, might be cheaper to install a new bigger SSD
