First, let me say that I use the MPC only for drums, I don't sample off of records or other songs as far as music, so i'm not really looking for sampling power, etc. I want to be able to record live (realtime) bass guitar and guitar over my tracks as well as keys and vocals (and eventually live horns and real piano.) what direction should i go in as far as a recorder/mixer (should i go Pro-tools or hardware?), amps, mics, vocal effects processors, etc. I'm not looking for the absolute cheapest, but highest quality for lowest price. Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated.
