MPC 2500 + SP 303 Set Up Advice

Hey guys I’m having a hard time figuring out how to set up my MPC 2500 to the SP 303.

I plan to use the SP as an effects box. Which cords will I need and which ins/outs do I plug them into?

Sorry for being such a noob, I have no one to show me the world of analog gear. Appreciate any help.

Do you just want to slap the SP on the mains of the 2500, or do you want to use it as a send FX?

Anyway, you’re going to need a couple of jack/rca cables, or jack cables with jack/rca adapters.

I notice a lot of people don’t understand basic signal path routing.
I am NOT an audio engineer but I def hav 1-2 books that cover the subject. I find the key is applying the theory to your actual machine.
The MPC BIBLE for your MPC is an excellent starting place
The roland MV made me learn the basics b/c it was so powerful & different from my MPC.


I assume u want to resample on the mains like my KORG KAOSS PAD - DJ INSERT FX. You can also try to use it like a SEND FX if you don’t like the internal REVERB/DELAYS. But you must understand what you want to accomplish.


GET good cables [not necessarily expensive]
Nothing is worse than unnecessary noise in your cables trashing your recordings. Sweetwater reps are quite patient
