Heres my initial gameplan:
I have an MPC2000xl, I plan to sample songs using A PC. I have Sound Forge. I planned to make the Drum beats on the mpc and import them to the PC. Can that be done? How? If there is a better way PLEASE HELP A BROTHA! At this point im clueless. Can someone give me a detailed description of what I need, and how to do it.(In terms which I can understand) Sorry, I'm still a rookie at this

if all you want to do is record the song you made on the mpc into your computer, then you just need to run the mpc audio out into your computer audio in. a 1/8" stereo to 2 1/4jacks cable will be really helpful and you can get that at radio shack. if you have to you can get a cable that is rca's on one end and 2 1/4 jacks on the other and a 1/8" to rca adapter.

anyways, then all you have to do is hit record in soundforge and then play on the mpc. if you want to be able to record more stuff in the computer, like vocals, or guitar or whatever the setup can get more complicated.
