Motif es or XV-5080 fully expanded with 8 expansions

Which one would you rather have?

Im a be real with ya cause you see i own a motif es. Right now the motif es is whats hot and a lot of people have it but since the new fantom x and xr is out alot of people dont look at the 5080 any more so ima say if you can get a chance to demo them both then i would make my choice that way. I mean the motif is hot but the 5080 is hot too and if you can learnt o program some new sounds down the road then buying something old might give ya that edge. Me im not buying another keyboard for another 5 years. Sometimes its good to skip the what ever is hot next. At these prices cant always keep up with the jones plus keyboards are known to skipp over on good sounds from old keyboards with what ever is new. Youll be 100 percent happy with the motif es but i would give that 5080 a good ear before i make my choice.

I have both but if you could only get one, I would get the motif es. The acoustic sounds are incredible. If you already have a controller, then get the module. If you want something extra, then give the 5080 a listen..

and if you don't already have a controller, get one anyways....with the Motif Rack....Since I bought my edirol controller, tweaking the sounds is much better...plus, I think a Motif Rack and controller combo is cheaper than an actual Motif Keyboard....which is the main reason why I would recommend the controller and rack, for its' price, plus you can also buy other racks down the line which are much cheaper than the actual keyboards...

I have the es and I am happy with the purchase. However, the learning curve resembles a huge mountain. manual is a piece of s-hit.You'll have that machine for a yr and still **** around and find a feature you had no clue about. built in compressor+ multiband, dual insertion effects, 40 something chorus, m-lan optiongive 16out, 2 of which are stero. Sampling on the thing is a pain though so beware. from my understanding the famthom is much better in that department. Acoustic sound is where it dominant comp. bass sounds like real bass etc. On the real, I hope folks stay with the triton.
