Which one is better, Logic or Protools?? What's the Difference??

depends on what you want to do. I prefer using protools for recording audio but the midi sequencing on protools just doesn't do it for me. on the other hand logic's midi is fantastic and it's audio is also good. test them and see which one you prefer... that's the best advise I can give you cause anyone who answers this question, may be used to working with a certain program and his opinion will be biassed.

I have worked on both of these programs and Logic is very good
for it's clarity in terms of midi instruments and also cleaning up
sounds with the plug ins and I know engineers with songs to their
credit who swear by it nice crystal clear results

Pro tools is very good for recording your vocals and mixing down
your music I currently master with the T-RackS analog modeled
mastering plug in inside Pro-tools just put it as an insert on the
master fader track which can be automated and you can also
save your settings on other plugins as well as keep them as a
preset. The more experienced you are with Pro-tools determines
what the end result will be as far as the finished product.

i dont see why not but why would u do that? Logic is cool. its more midi intensive while pro tools focuses more on recording. Just get one and stick to it and just learn it inside out. Then cop some plugins.

I won't get into which I think is better, they're both great apps. If you (for whatever reason) feel you need both apps you'll have to have Digi hardware, PT won't run without it. Also, Logic is Mac only, PT can run on both platforms.

I ran both programs on pc I have Logic Platinum 4 it goes up to
5.0 on pc after that it's all Mac

I run Nuendo now and Protools along with Reason and Fruity Studio 4

I want a mac so I can use logic

I've been planning my setup around purchasing logic 7 express, I have a PC, not a mac.

I may have to get PT instead. damn I wanted that MOTU 828 mk2,
nuendo would be dope but its well expensive

yo philly stress, you must have alot of time on your hands, you start some crazy azz topics, cuz.

the key is to find what works for you and go with it. your setup should fit like a glove.

another point, say an individual own logic or pro tool or cubase or live what percentage of the program do you think that individual will utilitize? there are some individuals that take 18 month programs learning pro-tools. i have used cubase for more than 10 years and only utilitize about 60% of it. now i use live4 and utilitize even less.

so the bottom line is "does it really make a differents"? use what you got and make some music. f@ck the bull Sh!t.

Now that's whats up! Thats the real right there.

you want both. if you dump your tracks into the computer you need logic cause it keeps the warmth to your track. protools should be used strictly and i repeat strictly for vocals. you can actually tell a song that was recorded in protools or logic

^^^^^ ???? I don't know my man. It's been a while since anyone's posted anything this crazy on MPC. Wait, I'm on the phone calling up Dre, Remi, Big Boi, and the others right now to tell them they shouldn't be tracking anything but vocals on ProTools. But shoot, where can I find their phone numbers????

Ok, jokes aside, I've never experienced that myself. But then again I'm the fool who thought his sine wave was changing pitch when I eqed it.... so I could be wrong!


..... between protools and logic I always thought the most important difference between the two was if you liked working with audio or midi. Protools lends itself better to working with audio clips while logic does the midi better. ALSO Logic has a longer learning curve but way more cool virtual instruments. Hmmmm. Personally I think Acid is where it's at.

Can you tell me how Logic keeps warmth in tracks? or better, describe the warmth to me...
