I've seen that lot of people working with a pc use softbased sequencers instead of the mpc to make songs... Why ? As for me, building a whole song with the mpc is sooo simple and i don't get mad with all that midi problems...
I use cubase sx to record each track from the mpc, for fxs and mixdown, i just syncronise cubase and the mpc with a midi clock and VOILA everything works nice.
Also, i've an expender (virus a) and soon a s950, i control it with the mpc, it's so easy. Never try to command it with cubase and midi tracks, but i think it should be very complicated, and i'd rather spend time making beats than dealing with software problemz !
