id say go with the mophatt. its been used a lot but dont worry about that. you'll probably hear that from more people then me! but dont trip off that.

the mo phatt has some nice sounds (imo). the proteus is pretty coo, but for hiphop you'd probably be better off with the phatt

well i know nothing about the proteus keyboard but i have a proteus 1. im sure its far from the 2000 but its a proteus. the sounds are pretty basic on it. as some would say "bread and butter" sounds. i read that it was more for maybe pop music then say hiphop/rap. never heard of the protozoa rom but the proteus' are expandable. when they are expanded they're pretty tight! can get some nice sounds!

i guess my info wasnt that helpful huh? since i dont really know, but i think sound wise the mo phatt would do. up to you though! i'd say do some research like i always do. hit google up and search for the specs on both modules. i like to read reviews from people who own 'em to get honest opinions on them....

hope that helped

I have the mophatt, and its good for certain tracks, but if I had it to do it all over again, I would get a proteus 2500..You have more functionality and more expansion slots. You can have the proteus 2000 and the mophatt in one box..

If u dont have them bread and butter sounds I.e Keys, strings, brass etc then I'd cop the pro 2000 You can expand them at a later date. They also have more outputs then the standard phatt (2)

Roland jv series is also an option. Motif rack....

Spose it depends on your budget too

well, they got a mophatt keyboard(i got that one)
they also got a proteus keyboard and one called halo which both have bread and butter sounds
there is madd roms to get but they are getting harder to find, you can get them on ebay all day long though

either one you get, you can cop the rom for the other

example

get proteus, cop the mophatt rom
get mophatt, cop the proteus rom

i got the mophatt keyboard , and i jus got the proteus, protazoa, and the beat garden roms this year, so i'm maxed out in there

if you go with a module you can prolly get one then buy the rom you want for 500 bux or less

jus check on ebay
