hey whats up? Im having some trouble getting a midi controller(oxygen 8) to play vsts within sonar 3. Ive gone through help sections but Im pretty lost, as Ive never dabbled with this type of set up. Anyways, I want to be able to play the vst on my midi keyboard, which is connected to the computer(sonar) and then I want to sequence in my mpc. My mpc is connected through the computer, but not the midi keyboard. Anyone working with this set up?

As it stands now, I have a MiniMoog set up in an audio track, and I have a midi track right underneath it. I have everything set to Midi Channel 1. In the audio track, I have inputs none, as it doesnt give me an appropriate option. Outs to master. I can hear the moog when I play it with the mouse. In midi track i have in on omni and out on minimoog. again all channels are set to 1. If i need to provide more info, let me know. Thanks.

I don't use a PC.

I use a Mac, but the concepts should be the same.

You need to make sure that the central, system level midi extension sees and controls your gear. It must see and conrol the MPC and the midi keyboard you have, as well as any midi interfaces that may have attached to the PC. In the Mac in OSX, it is called AMS. In Mac OS9, it is called OMS. Once you have that setup correct, then you can trouble shoot small problems.

Do you know what you're supposed to have set up?

Check that out and see if you need to mke adjustments.

Peace.
