i have an 2000xl, motif rack, and 002 rack. yesterday i got a deal on a roland xv5050. i have been trying all night to figure how to sync them all together.i want to have my motif on my A channels and the roland on the B channels. so both of my outs on the XL are used so i dont know how to sync the XL to the 002 rack now. i bought a midisport 2x2 but am having a difficult time getting everything on same page. any help would be appreciated.

MPC OUT A --> OO2 IN
002 OUT 1 --> MPC IN

MPC OUT B --> Motif IN
Motif Thru --> 5080

Set your motif to receive ch. 1-8 and to ignore ch 9-16.
Set your 5080 to receive ch. 9-16 and ignore 1-8.

Now you can sync the MPC using MTC to Pro Tools and vice versa on MIDI A.
Your midi tracks will be on MIDI B. You can change the B configuration to whatever you want, for example, if you use more sounds out of the Roland than just allocate more channels, 1-12, 13-16.

This is just one way to do it, not the only way.

You can also use the USB connection on the motif for MIDI comunication with the computer if the time comes when you need to sequence something in protools. Just switch the motif from MIDI to USB. No switching cables. The MPC can now be used like a sound module.

Your 2x2 is not needed in this configuration.
