MPC1K with SP303??

Posted this in the MPC1000 forum earlier, but then i figured that maybe this was the appropriate forum for my question (admins, feel free to remove the post which is in the wrong forum)

I've been hearing good things about the SP303, but do I really need an SP303 when I already have an MPC? What can I do on an SP303 that I cant do on my MPC? Will the sound quality on the SP303 be good enough to be used on a studio recording? I create hip-hop beats, all vinyl sample based.

My real question - is this machine of any use for me?

It's another sampler. It has a bunch of nice FX, but other than that, it's more limited than your MPC. It's very portable, but it still needs a power supply, so it's not much more portable than the MPC1000. I'd spend the money on something else if I were you.

I love my 303, it depends on how you like to work. The 303, for me, works well cause of its ease of use. I can put sh*t in and take them out so easlily. its like a third hand. You have alot ofsampling time, 15 minutes and 32 banks. The effects are cool but limited. But for me I like it too cause it compliments my 60 and microkorg so well, not to mention the w-30and sp12 I have.

The 303 will give you what you put into it. Remember there are no internal sounds or discs, everything is up to you. If you buy one new, the first thing you must do is erase them samples that are on banks A and B.
