What's up?

Has anyone ever had their monitors just kind of "fade out" in volume over time? For example, I have a couple of JBL active monitors. When I got them, I set the front gain controls to basically the same position, and everything was nicely balanced volume-wise, but lately I've had to leave the right monitor turned most of the way up and the left at like less than half power. You think this is a sign the right monitor's amp is slowly going out, or does anyone else have any bright ideas? I'm guessing the monitor is slowly dying, because I've checked my cables and replaced them, checked panning, gain settings, etc, and everything ELSE seems to be set up just like I've always had it.

Thanks a lot,

MANiK

Triple-check all the switches and controls on both monitors, and then switch them around without touching anything else. If you still have the problem, there MUST be something wrong with the monitor. Some models have an auto-fade function that turns them off after a ceratain period of silence. A malfunction in the circuitry that controls this feature might account for your problem.

Will do...thanks for the tip! These monitors are probably 3-4 years old and since they're active, I figured the amp or accompanying circuitry might have something to do with it. The weird thing is that with the levels set how they are now, the monitors sound clear as a bell (well as much as nearfields ever do.....wish I had the dosh to actually buy some full monitors and everything, but hey, times is hard everywhere.... :)

Thanks for the reply man!
