recording triplets on to pro tools

how do you record 16(3) on to pro tools? when i do it it plays random parts of the sequence.

now i slaved the mpc to pro tools but when i try to record something at a temp of 84 and the timing of 16th note, it plays whatever is on the 1st and 3rd note. is there some way to fix this in pt.
