How do I configure the midi man so it will control the MPC through pro tools?

Midiman was the old company name of M-audio sp I'm assuming you mean the midisport. You can either connect your sport through serial or usb port. I connect it through serial connection to my pc and usb connection to my mac. If you want pro tools to control the mpc after you've created your sequence, you connect midi-in of the mpc to one of the midi outs of your midisport. In PT, select beat clock under midi and choose the proper midisport port. (If you installed the midisport properly, you should see the available ports in this menu.) Disable the "beat conductor" and change the tempo in protools to match the tempo of you sequence in the mpc. I dont know which mpc you have, but I have the 3000. You will need to enable midi beat clock within the tempo\sync options for the same midi-in your mpc is connect from and turn sync to on. Press play in PT and it should trigger the mpc.

Hope that helps!
