How do you use your 8-outs with such a small mixer.  I want to get them but I can't afford another mixer right now.  How do you work it?

I've posted my setup which is similar to yours MPC Tutor, although not as extensive--I made a mistake on mine, I have the VC3 like you, not the VC1. Also got a Rode mic. Both the Joe Meek and the Rode I bought because they seemed like good value for money. I use cheap passive monitors with a Samson pwr amp, but I'm thinking I need better ones cos my mixes always end up sounding muddy and narrow on a hifi!!

I got a question for u tutor:

I typically go from the Mpc to the Dps via the 8 outs.  I'm hatin' the fact that I only can have 6 inputs to the the Dps from the Mpc since input 1/2 on the Dps I gotta use directly to the mics (phantom power).  What do u suggest I do to use all the 8 outs from the mp to the dps?  (Or be able to have 6 mp outputs and patch in L/R stereo from the Alesis)

I was thinking of a good mic preamp and linking it to my patch bay so I could patch in the mic line into input 1/2 to the dps when needed and be able to use 1/2 as mpc inputs.  

If not I was considering syncing the Dps with Cool Edit (or something better - sound forge/pro tools) via MTC to add more tracks but I'm not really feeling that - recording qualities b/w tracks may differ - nah mean?

What do u think?

the digi 001 and pro tools is the best thing u could have. My friend just bought one of those last week. I got a MOTU 2408 and running Cubase SX on my PC w/ Windows XP
