Right now all i'm trying to do is mix-down beats to the PC and burn. I'm doing NO significant editing on the PC or sampling, etc... JUST MIXING DOWN TO BURN... with that said, i'm using a Triton Extreme controlled by a MPC1000 running thru a behringer mixer, TAPE OUT/IN TO/FROM PC., recording into SoundForge 6.0.
My problem is that using the motherboard soundcard- the signal coming in was too hot and uncontrollable via the Windows Volumn Control. I've gone into every possible setting in windows and soundforge and still could not control that level IN via the PC. The only way to control it was to turn the board way down and then the signal in the PC would go down but we all know we have to push our mixers to get everything sounding right so that is not an option for making beat reels. I then went out and bought a Soundblaster card (thinking there was a problem with the built in card)- first uninstalled the internal cards software, installed the hardware/software for the Soundblaster and now i get NO SIGNAL in from the mixer to the LINE IN. Also, using either the built-in card or the soundblaster card, the LINE OUT worked fine and sounds perfect (playing internet radio, wav files already saved in my HD, etc...) Also, i've used the TAPE OUT of the board as well as the MAIN OUT and AUX OUT, and same issue with all. ANY IDEAS??[/list]
