I've been making a lot of beats with the MPC but i've never sampled anything from records. My dads got a shit load of records and i wanna sample from some of them, but my record player is just a cheap piece of shit that gives me major noise when sampling into the MPC.....can someone give me some names/brands of some decent turntables that i would basically only use for sampling records and just playing EP's out of my stereo? I know nothing about turntables...if you could also tell me price ranges of any ones you suggest that would be nice

Perhaps it's noise from the record themselves?
You should probably go to a hi-fi store (if you don't care about scratching) and get a decent hi fi turntable, you will probably need to buy a phone pre amp too, which gets the turntable signal to line level.
price range? i'm in australia, but the old addage "you get what you pay for" stands here.
