mpc with reason and other computer software

I've currently got my mpc 200 xl hooked up to my computer via a 1x1 usb interface and sonar on my computer. But i'm not getting along with it to well and i don't seem to be able to do the things i want without it al getting a bit fiddly (see some of my pervious post). My friends been using reason with a midi keyboard, He seems really impressed as do lots of people i've spoken to. I've read some old posts on here about mpc and reason set ups.

I would be intertsted to know about people using reason and an mpc
How easy is it to setup get along ?
Can you record from the mpc into reason with midi data ?
Can reason trigger the mpc ?
Can you playback data and record at the same time (see my previous posts)
Gererally just want to know if it a possibilty worth exploring ?

hope somebody can help my setup at the moment isn't really working

i was considering using reasons myself ...so if you get any responses I'd like to see what they have to say .....

Reason is a good program, but not as good as the MPC. U can set up the MPC to use with reason, but then the MPC is just a $1200 midi drum trigger. If u r going to use the MPC and ur computer together, use the MPC to make ur drums, melody, bass, etc, sequence it on the mpc, and dump it into cool edit or cubase to do the mixing/mastering.

Good point, i've considered that may be the case and it would certainly be a waste of amazing bit of kit,
My my idea was originally to visually sequence the data and the sounds because somtimes with the mpc i have trouble getting my sequences together properly to make a whole track. Any times on doing this ? but i love using it because it so hands on for making beats i was going to record midi into sonar etc but i found i had problems with record and playback at the same time. Not even sure if it can be done !! (see some of my other recent posts if your not sure what i'm on about)
Any other thoughts people ??

i use reason and use my mpc2000 as a midi drum controller. i also have the radium 49 for my midi keys/knobs/sliders needs. anyways i really prefer reason because you can edit visually, seeing the whole track at a time instead of 1 unit of time in step edit on the mpc. sure my mpc is now a really expensive drum controller, but i have had it for years and already gotten alot of use out of it and not i get alot more use out of it.

That interesteing to know, I think i'll give it a try do you have thoughts on ideas on how easy it would be putting the data back into mpc to play out live ?

if all you do is export and import, the export type1 midi files .mid you should be ok. you will have to spend some time mapping your sounds to the same midi notes in reason if you want to be able to get it back into the mpc later. i just load sounds and sequence everything in reason these days.
