IN HOW TO USE CUBASE AS A MULTIMBERAL DEVICE and ALSO SYNC to your MPC.[/url] This one by "ieism"
I will leave this one for now just so u can get a quick idea of what to do.
First of all Load up Cubase and choose your transport option Sync SetUp
Choose your MIDI Device
For MPC1000, MPC2000, XL, 4000, MPC60 Users use SEND MIDI CLOCK so that when you stop the locator stops right where you stopped. This will also allow to continue from the point u stopped.
For those who require MTC (MIDI TIME CODE) This is for not for MPC1000 Users , IN SEND MIDI TIME CODE. Choose your MIDI DEVICE there.
Click on the Tempo and insert the time you require. And click on SNYC so that it says OFFLINE
Now On your MPC:
1000 USERS
Press MODE PAD9, SYNC and Select either 1 or 2 (Obviously a midi leands need to connected to there and on the corresponding midi device. (dont ask for help on what plugs where cause I said time and time again WHAT GOES IN MUST COME OUT) This will allow the MPC to recieve MIDI CLOCK to SYNC with Cubase.
2000 & 2000XL USERS
Press SHIFT 9 (MIDI SYNC), and choose either 1 or 2 depending where u plugged the midi lead in and then select the mode MIDI CLOCK or MIDI TIME CODE, choose what ever you need to what you chose on Cubase.
NOTE if you need to sync another machine in conjuction with the MPC then choose SYNC out and have the MPC plugged via midi to that Machine and that will SYNC too. Bare in mind you will need to set that machine up also to recieve the MIDI signal.
VST Control Via Midi.
This is not working the way I want it to right now but u can still get use out of it.
1. In your MIDI track choose your midi input device.
2. In your output choose your VST
To hear the signal when you press the pad click on MONITOR icon or the REC icon and it will allow you to hear you VST.
Now you can sequence a VST via Cubase, however the problem I am having is when I make a new MIDI track and select Ch 2, and Ch2a on the MPC it still plays the fist one on Track 1 Ch1. I fiddled with various settings and still no joy, I think it might be m version of Cubase SX or might be a malfunction somewhere, so when its done i will explain the process, thats if other are having this same problem that is..
Well, that was fun!! now enjoy making music.
P.S. Please feel free to correct update and inform of any other ways to go about this. I'm also aware that Nuendo has the same MIDI setup options sp there is no need for a guide for that.
