Hello All,
I have been using Reason for sequencing for awhile and I love it but everyone always told me the MPC was the ish for hiphop so I bought one on ebay since I had a little extra dough burnin a hole in my pocket and now I'm afraid maybe I made an impulse buy that I will regret. I'm hoping to get some reassurance from MPC users on how it is superior over Reason. I plan to do live shows eventually but do I really need this piece of equipment??? ???

Above everything else, the MPC is a lot more fun to make beats with. I used my PC for nearly 2 years making beats, then about 2 months ago I grabbed an MPC2000XL. I can't say that I've ever had as much fun as I do now. I believe that you're perfectly capable of recreating anything made with an MPC on a computer using software, but you can't imitate that fun aspect (At least for me anyway). Plus, I feel good knowing I've invested in myself and my music, I have pride in owning an MPC. I use my MPC along with Cool Edit Pro and it works great.

I think if you take the time to learn the MPC, you'll love it too.
