Protools and MPC question, Please help

I just got the digi001 (I know I should have got the 002 rack, but I couldn't afford it)

Question 1:
How do you loop a part? I mean when I record music, and when it gets to the end of the song I want to to start over again with out haveing to put the space bar.......

Question 2:
Is there a function that i can cut and paste??? what tool is this, I read the manual but I can't can't see how to cut the part without the whole track getting highlighted........

Please help!

1. You got to loop manually, so if I were recording from the MPC, I would set up the MPC to only play 4 bars or 2 bars, whatever your using. Set Pro Tools to loop playback.

2. Dont use the hand tool, pick the tool that looks like a line, this will let you select bits of your audio, now with playback set to loop you can srub the selection hit the spacebar and make adjustments until you get the loop. Then hit ctrl-c, ctrl-v and you have your loop.

3. Now select the whole loop, go to the time/compression plug in and find the bpm of your loop, go to the transport window and unclick the little composer and enter the bpm of you song, the grid will change to fit your loop.

4. I dont heave ProTools at my place so I cant get into specifics but you should try setting up MidiMachineControl when your ready to record, so whenever you press play on ProTools it will begin recording from the same place and line up your tracks for you.

Digi001 is better/more reliable than the 002R from what I've heard, you should be happy with your purchase. PT is hella easy to learn, I picked up all this stuff I mentioned after 4 hours of playing with it at a friends house. Peace.

last question, after all the audio is done, how do I set the loop so i can just keep listening to the song over and over...

There should be a return to start button on the transport window. If not double click on any chunk of audio that runs through the whole song and it will automatically play the whole song and return to the beginning of the chunk if youve set playback to loop.
