WHAT MAKES A SONG COMPLETE AS FAR AS THE DRUMS BAR?

HOW MANY BARS FOR THE INTRO?
HOW MANY BARS FOR THE HOOK?
HOW MANY BARS FOR THE VOCALS?

HOW MANY BARS IS TOO MUCH?

you can loop stuff the way you feel or want it to sound but the standard song format go like this....8 bar intro 16 bar or more verse 8 bar hooks 8 bar outros. just remember when your artist is rapping his verse or write that he must end his verse on a even 4 bar number after 16 bars for ex. 16 20 24 and so on this way your beat dont cut off in the middle of a melodie or he has extra space at the end of his verse because he didnt write long enuff.

thanks man, but HERE IS A MORE CHALLENGING QUESTION, what if you have a loop that takes 5 bars of a drum loop, i can use timestrecth but i dont want that plus i'm not good at it ..... so do you just go on an adjust and add a bar to every section?

Easy, for me, I don't stick to any rules. In the event that my artist comes with a 17 or 15 bar verse I just come up with a creative fill to get that extra bar in there. Be creative and break free of the box that people place you in or just avoid the box altogether, know what I'm sayin? Now go make some hot shit till your fingers fall off.....

YOU KNOW IF YOU'RE DOING "DIRTY SOUTH" TYPE OF MUSIC, YOU CAN BREAK THE RULES A MILLION TIMES AND IT STILL SOUND GOOD, LIKE YOU KNOW HOW SOUTHERN PRODUCERS GOT LIKE A MILLION SNARES, A MILLION KICKS AND A MILLION HH ALL IN ONE SONG, BUT LIKE MY BEATS ARE MORE EASTCOAST AND WESTCOAST....SO I LIKE TO GO WIT DA STANDARD, BUT YOU DONT ALWAYS HAVE TO THO'................AS FAR AS THE BARS COUNT I LIKE MINE SIMPLE, I LIKE THE HOOK TO BE 8 BARS LOOPED TWICE TO GET 16.
