Hey wasup guys heres my situation. I currently am in the process of upgrading my setup. What i need is a mixer that allows me to have at least 8 inputs, along with mutes/solos/effects/sends. Additionaly i would like to be able to control Protools with the mixer [i think this is called a control surface]. I have my mpc, jv1010, and currently plan on expanding to the emu mp-7 [and maybe some more synths later]. The issue at hand is that i need a mixer that will allow me to do mutes, effects, and all that, plus have at least 8 channels.

Since the mpc, and the jv1010, and most sound modules/machines i've been intrested in have stereo outs, therefore i would like it if the mixer had stereo ins. And it would be great if i could use it as a "control surface" for my protools, that im running on my digi 001 on my power macg4. If any1 can help, it would much apreciated.

Ohh and im trying to spend less than $600. The most important features i need are the 8 stereo channels, with mute/pan/fader controls/volume/send/returns, etc...
If one were to purchace a mixer with mono ins, would that work? Being that the mpc has stereo outs? Wouldn't it lose signal or something? Thanks to any1 that can help.
