would it be better to get the Moti rack or the the basic keyboard?

It will come out a little cheaper with the rack and a midi keyboard... was wonderin if there is anything I should consider first? Thanks

the rack was 999.00 and the keyboard was like 1499.00 any thoughts?

I guess you should go for the keyboard version, so you'll have a decent masterkeyboard and a cool soundgenerator in the same box.

I would do the keyboard. Less equipment, it's all in one and a masterkeyboard like Yamada man stated.

The rack has 2 more banks of sounds and twice the user memory of the keyboard version, the rack also has more polyphony and more insert fx. The keyboard weighs about 37 pounds and takes up a hefty amount of space. The rack doesn't have a sequencer or sampler but if your using it with the MPC then you don't really need either of them, thought the sampler and sampling functions in the Motif are much better then the MPC's in my opinion. I own the Motif keyboard but I think I'll probably be getting the rack version soon for the extra voices and polyphony. Which ever one you decide to get I'm sure you'll be happy with.

Any suggestions on what midi key board to buy for the rack... and where to get it.

I think i am going for the rack because I have the sampler and seq in the mpc.

I just relly love the sounds out of the motif... vs. the triton, my first choice.... I was just wondering if it was a major pain to hook the rack up to the midi keyboard and operate that way???

thanks to all who respond.

I've played a little with the oxygen 8 hooked to an MPC and it's pretty nice.
