I don't understand exactly the whole concept of the sequencer it has. Do I record a melody or something off my keyboard and it plays back through the mpc or does it play back through the keyboard. And also can I hook up more than two keyboards up to the MPC, because I have a triton, motif, nord lead 2, XP-3o and a JV-2020 sound module,

Thank you.

Your post amaze's me, did you do research on the MPC before you laid down 1300$ on it. And you have a Triton AND a Motif? I seriously need a better job.

Read the FAQ, Tutorials, and Articles sections on this website.
You need to figure out what MIDI is and how it works.
I'm sure there are other MIDI tutorials on the web. Find them.
Try www.mpc2000xl.com too.

The question you are asking is way too broad to be answered in one sentence. You need to figure out what you are trying to do and then read about what the mpc can do. Read through this site and all the old messages on this board...it's a good guide.

I think what he is getting at man, is that if you understand midi you dont need to ask the ?. Midi can be daisy chained to as many units as you reasonably can handle.
so since the MPC has 2 midi ins/outs you can connect each keyboard to the mpc and daisy chain the rest of the gear on these midi channels, and selecting which channels each device responds on. This is basic midi stuff.

Its on, like page 5 of the manual. He prolly got all ruff with you cuz this ? could be answered by:

searching the site for "midi"

reading the MPC tutors tutorial on midi

Reading the first 10 pages or so of the manual.

which would all be faster then waiting on here for a reply.

I dont think its that he dont wanna help, its jus that he dont wanna answer a ? that other cats have asked.
PLus. hey, if you got a triton AND a motif and all that other gear, why do you need a mpc?

as far as the sequencer, yes, input midi data into it, from any controller, tell the mpc where to send the midi data for playback and it will record the SEQUENCE in the MPC.
If you have a triton dont the tritons seq. work kinda like this?
