Cubase sx. pro question

Does anyone know a way to record multiple tracks of midi into Cubase? Each midi track in Cubase only allows you to select the input DEVICE, not the input CHANNEL. Pretty lame for such an advanced program.
I could do this in Sonar, why can't i do it in Cubase?
Or is there a workaround? I know some of yall use pc's to play softsynths and stuff, so you must have the same problem when you sequence on the mpc and want to hear more than one softsynth playing.

of course you can. if you tried reading the manual or use the help option you could do a lot of wonder stuff in cubase. if sonar was all that why use cubase?

So explain. I've read the manual 78 times, it's not in there. I'm talking about setting the midi-input of the track itself to a midi channel 1-16, not the channel number on wich it outputs midi.
I know this is not a very obvious question, cause i've asked a few people who've been using Cubase for a decade and they didn't know either. They said the same thing you did: Of course you can, i just don't know how, just read the manual. So assuming you've read the manual yourself, TELL ME! I didn't post this on the "read the manual Forum" did I?
I know you can use the midi filter function to disable all the midi channels but one, but this is not what i need.

go to the help option and look up multirecord. ok? knowledge is power why give it away?

Typing in multirecord in help does not give any usefull topics at all. Maybe you're using an other version of Cubase. I know in VST this feature was called multirecord, but in SX it's gone.
But after spending another 5 hours of seaching, i've found a workaround though.

hey, it can be done. If you know how to use the midi filter than you can multi track. It took me a while to figure it out but it will work. Pretty much you have to set that filter on each channel only allowing one instr on it. EX. midi channel 7 on channel seven with out on 7. I set it up for 16 channels and saved it as a template so I won't have to do everytime i want to do multi-tracking. You would think they would have an easier way. P.S. I have read the manual and it didn't help , i went to a cubase forum to find the answer. Good Luck

Yes, i figured that out too. It took me long though. This should have been in the manual or in some book.
