im gona give this sample thing a try

I need a new sound source! Right now i own a Motif Classic and was thinking about getting the triton rack but after playing with the the triton le iv felt that the triton do have some great sounds and features the two(triton/motif) have a lot of the same thing and the sounds that the triton may have that the motif dont do not have dont give just to why i should give out 1400 for one. I wont also buy the motif es cause its nothing new just a upgrade. WELL ANYWAYs! Last year i was in my parents atic and i found this big ass box with a bunch of records(about 250 records) in it. man the had everthing and then some but at the time i wasnt a sample beat maker nor would i even think about asking my parents to let me have the records just because when i was a kid in the 80's i took some of there records and and try to scratch on there record player and all that got cut up was the records and my ass! Im grown now and i ask my moms since they did really touch this box in maybe 10 years or so could i have the records for xmas and she said yes as long as i take care of them. im not that kid no more so i know will do that but i need to know is if i want to sample do i really need a super duper record player or could use a good old sony record play from sears. i got a good mixer.

Any old record player will do, its just good to use a direct drive one for cueing it up easily if you miss on your first try. A good mixer is the Vestax pmc17A, they go for like $100 used. they have 6 inputs (make it your sample hub, VCR, CD player, turntables) and 3 channel strips with high, mid, and low eq to do some pre filtering.

Any turntable will do, yes. The better the cartridge you buy for it, the better it will sound.
