DO not waste any more money on another sequencer workstation.

You mpc has plenty of power. If you dont achieve the results you are looking for, you are not using the machine right. The mpc is a do it all production powerhouse!

I would add in my opinion that you get the Mo Phatt rack module over the keyboard. However, if you don't already have a somewhat decent board to act as your controller then the Mo Phatt keys may be appropriate for you. I always base my purchases in terms up growth/expansion. The last thing you want to do is get 3 or more pieces of equipment packed with the same functions when you can cover the same functions in one unit. As for the keyboards I have about 4 modules actually 3 and a keyboard that I started off with that I controll with a SL880. Compared to rack units keyboards take up a lot of space, make the best of your set up space and organize. Oh yeah, I didn't see any mention of an amp in your post or mention of editing software like soundforge, adobe and etc;. Also I've heard nothing but bad things about the Truth monitors. The Event Monitors are tight, no matter which one you get powered or passive. I use the Event 20/20 monitors (Passives) and the Samson 120a sub. A helluva combination. Of course I use a Samson S2000 amp to power my set up. Good luck, hope my words help some.

good looking out my *****, you helped out alot,

first of all..."Oh yeah, I didn't see any mention of an amp in your post or mention of editing software like soundforge, adobe and etc"

what do you mean by amp?, and why would i need editing software?
to edit samples or what?i got cool edit pro for that case.

thanx alot thats all i need to lose faith in the truths,
how much were your monitors, sub and amp all together?

and last whats the difference between passive and powered?(not amped and amped?)

whats the difference between passive and powered?(not amped and amped?)That is correct, passive means the sound just passes through, active means the sound is actively engaged and amplified by dylithium crystals within your amp.

i think i am goin with the mk6/mo phatt kets and the motif rack.

basically the most important question i have is,
can the motif and other rack/sound modules be run into the mk6?
meaning... can i play the motif sounds with the mk6 keys?

but what really has me thinking is that the motif 6 costs just around the same price as the rack.
so i could go mk6&motif rack orrrrr motif 6&mo phatt module(+$400 difference).

its a tuff decision.

and with the monitor situation i have, im going crazy.monitors are kind of expensive so i dont want to mess up, i think my best bet is trying to hit up a store and hearing how each monitor sounds for myself but when i went to guitar center there werent many that could be heard.

maudio bx5 or event tr5s both active are 300 bucks but they are small so thats the only thing holding me back,if im going to be paying hundreds of dollars for speakers i want them to pack a punch... you feel me.

Yes. The MK6 will act as a controller for the rack with the added bonus of an internal sound module. You will need to run the audio outputs from all the gear through your mixer to hear them though.

The rack has more voices, fx and polyphony then the original Motif. I think the rack would suit your needs best as you already have a sampler/sequencer in the MPC.

Another 200 and you can get the 8 inch models, plenty of boom for the money.

here is why I made the same mistake b/c you can not use the samples in the Mo phat for any commerical release thats right they dont tell you these samples already been used and assign to artist and the mo-phat is useless to me its a waste of money take that money and by some sample cds or go to local record store and buy up some records.

Any board or rack out right now has "presets" that you can hear in a lot of commercial recordings. When you first get your gear you'll probably just settle for the "presets" and make beats all day long with em'. When your ready to get serious, start tweakin', re-programing and altering the "presets" into your own sounds. This is also true for sampling from cd's, vinyl or whatever else. When you first start out you're just happy you got that Al Green sample to loop right but when you're ready to get serious you chop that bad boy up and tweak it until Al Green can't even recognize it.

The 499 price is for one speaker so the actual price for the pair is a 1000.

and im going to buy the mk6, what cables am i going to need to connect the mk6 to my mpc?

Midi cables. MPC midi out A to MK6 midi in/ MK6 midi out to MPC midi in 1. If you get the Motif rack you would do the same only hook the midi cables to midi out B and midi in 2 on the MPC.
You'll need 1/4 inch instrument cables running from the audio outs of the MK6, MPC and Mo rack to your mixer.

That's what I'd go with, or the V6's. As for headphones, I'd recommend Sony MDR 7506'S or the AKG 240m's.

i heard that about the mo phatt....but that would be the breaks and hits not the instruments...but if i ever got into trouble like that i would get at e-mu...i would ask myself what is the use of using their module if they will tax you after you make some money?...you can also tweak the sounds so don't even sweat that get the keyboard because it has more expansion room....the mo phatt can only be upgraded from 32mb to 64mb of sound.....while the keys can go to 128mb
