Peace all. For years I have been running my sampler through a home stereo, recording from the tape outputs on my reciever. As you can imagine, this is not an ideal way to work. I have a Mackie 1202 which I use to mix down beats via 8 outs but I need something other than my reciever to hook my turntable to. I've outgrown my homestereo...please, hold your applause. 
Initially I bought an RIAA pre-amp to connect the turntable to and then go from this preamp to the Mackie but the quality sucked, it was buzzing and I was picking up radio stations when I don't even have a radio in my room! I tried grounding it and all different attempts at connections and no luck, so forget that. I need something dedicated to run my turntable through.
Enter the MFC-42. I noticed you can hook a turntable right up to this, has a spot for grounding as well. Am I on the right path here? I really don't want to spend the money on another mixer when I already have the Mackie just for the ability to hook up my table. Doesn't seem right to be paying for faders and DJ features that I won't be using. For 300 bucks I could get the MFC-42 and at the very least have a stable device to connect my turntable to and then run the outs of that into the sampler. I'd also be getting some nice sound shaping tools as well.
