tracking on a recorder

I'm thinkin about selling my 24 track mixer and getting a VS-1880 digital recorder. I was thinking can I put all my tracks on the recorder through Midi time code since I have MPC2KXL, if so will I be able to use all 18 tracks or will some of the faders on the recorder used for other purposes.
And also will I have to connect audio outputs from my MPC and synths to here my tracks while there recording.

MIDI doesn't carry audio, so yes, you will have to connect audio cables.
