nope..such a lateral move as that would be totally unnecessary if you have any knowledge of ehat the digi is really capable of...for that money just invest in the one with the faders and control panel....

No. You will however need a computer capable of handling the PT hardware and software. If you get (or build) the right computer you'll love PT, if you get a computer that conflicts with or isn't powerful enough to run PT, you'll hate it. The fact that you asked this question tells me you're not really sure what these things do( they are both digital multi-trackers) so I would do A LOT of research before you run out and buy anything. An all-in-one workstation(vs2480, I really like the Akai DPS24!!! ) might suit your needs better then a computer/hardware/software setup. Good luck.
