Turntablez!

Just a quick question.... I'm about to buy a Turntable, so i can sample from records, but I'm not a DJ and don't need no expensive one.... All i need is a simple, attractive, CHEAP, turntable with RCA outputs so I can just run some regular RCA-Quater Inch plugs in it and hook it straight to my MPC......... any suggestions?

Just make sure your needles and cartridges are on point, cause the quality of the sample isnt in the turntable peace

u can buy a 2 dollar turntable as long as its got the outs and A nice Cartridge Youll Be all Set...

....copped a turntable myself. I bought a Stanton STR8-20 from the Guitar Center. It was regular $109.99, but I got it for $69.99 because the Numark I wanted was out of stock. Anyway you probably will not be able to run it straight to your MPC. Turntables have to be grounded and it may also require a "phono amp". You could just do what I do, I hook the turntable up to my Stereo Receiver which has a ground for it and then run the receiver to my mixing board. You should run yours from a stereo receiver to the MPC. That way you can also sample off of the other stereo components. Stereo receivers have built in Phono Amps. Good Luck

a bit more expensive but a lot more portable and stylish + it has the built in RIAA preamp so it´s one of the few turntables you can hook up directly to the mpc. Since it has a line in you can actually hook the mp back and listen to you´re beats thru the built in speaker as well!
Before I start to sound too much like a sales person I have to be honest and say that I´ve never tried so I´ve no idea of what it sounds like, but on the web page it looks like a good idea.

I've heard the handytrax, it sounds pretty good, better through propper speakers tho.

The Stanton STR8-100 (and other new TT's) have a line out feature so you don't need to add the expense / hassle / noise of a preamp.

I have [1] Numark TTX1 turntable with the ES and I'm still waitin on my pre-ordered MPC 1000 it should be in today hopefully but I was wonderin would it be better to connect the TTX1 to the MPC 1000 or just cop a mixer to have everything hooked up together[ES, TTX1, MPC 1000, Tascam Standalone Cd Recorder and monitor speakers? I will cop a tight sound module or 2 in the future so I will need xtra inputs for that as well to go along with the rest of the equipment I've just listed!
