I'm planning on getting an effects processor for my MPC setup. I've looked around and seen that quite a few people like the lex 100,200, and 500. If I had to I could shell out like 500 bucks for a processor, but I've seen cheaper ones, and If I can save some cash on a processor thats cash that can go towards something else. So I guess i'm looking in the $500 or less category. Suggestions?

Any particular reason you want an outboard processor as opposed to the EB16? Just curious. As for outboard processors, I've heard good things about the TC Electronics M300(199.00).

Im sure the eb16 is decent, but i'd like something better. I havent seen anybody raving about their EB16.

thanks for the reply

The M One XL is a solid unit. They are running for like 400.

depends on what you want from your FX unit.

the EB16 is pretty simple. certainly not comparable to the Waves bundle i run in Sonar

id recommend checking out the Korg Kaos Pad 2. the kaos pad 2 has some great effects that complement MPC production. plus the rhythmic effects are interesting.

if you cant afford that im sure kaos pad 1 is going cheap second hand, and still beats the EB hands down, plus its a creative tool!

My advice is not to take random recommendations but to get a copy of the Sweetwater and Full Compass catalogs. With descriptions of all the effects processors together in one place you can choose a couple that fit your budget and then ask questions about them.
