I have a Sony Vaio PCg Fx-340 laptop and a Mpc 2000xl with 8 outs. What do I need in detail to transfer my beats onto my laptop.
Like Interface type.......

* I use Cubase Sx for recording.

Your options are pcmcia, usb and firewire. How much you want to spend will determine how many in/outs you'll be able to work with. Find out what kind of chipset and other components your laptop has and make sure whatever hardware you decide on is compatible. I'd check out a Cubase SX forum and find out what interfaces have a solid track record with Cubase and laptops.

Yeah, ur first mistake was choosin a laptop over PC for recording, but hell, i did the same thing..... guess we gotta live with our mistakes.... anyway, i was using a USB M-Audio Audiophile for Cubase VST32, and it worked straight except for a slight delay in Midi Sync.... I just copped the DigiDesign Mbox, and hopefully that'll do me right....

Yea me too. I guest the laptop just looks cooler and you know the good old saying just in case i have to be mobile....thats a joke i laugh at myself for saying that i could of save myself maybe 600 dollars if i went with desktop plus have the option to upgrade parts if i needed. i guest we learn like you said. The most mobile i have been with my laptop is from my bed room to the living room.

But look at getting a Firewire card...motu has some nice onces for a good price.
