All in 1 program called Adobe Audition 1.0 formerly known as Cool Edit Pro. Multitracking and wave editing, mastering, midisync and mixing and yes, easy to use.. the interface is customizable so you can make it hard for your boys that come to your crib and they will get lost in the GUI or you can make it easy and neat for yourself..

I doesn't do sequencing like Digital Orchestra Pro though...

DOP is a sequencer, AA is a multitracker/wave editor. I use to play with DOP for a couple of weeks and I quit cause it was too simple for me and I was just "trying" the computer sequencing thing out. I'll stick to sequencing on my gear like I've been doing like forever..

I used DOP for yrs..... its the first music for PC program I ever purchased back in 95/96. That has to be the simplest program for sequencing I have ever used. For your needs....it really depends on what you need a program for. If you want basic simple midi combined with audio, (or you just need audio) try Acid 4.0. If your midi needs are a bit more complex... try Cakewalk Sonar. Cool Edit/Adobe Audition is also good. But only if you can do without sequencing.

Try Cubase SX 2. I have not been disapointed.

you can use it on 98 it works cool just make sure your processor is up to speed cuz if not you wont be able to run a lot of real time effects at once.
