Being completely new to the world of DAWs, I would like to know if someone can clarify things for me. I am trying to hook up all my midi gear up to the Midi Express XT USB and configure Clockworks to set the routing up of my midi information. Here's my equipment list:
-G4 Dual 533 running DIgital Performer 3.11
-Motu 2408 MKII
-Motu Midi Express XT USB
-MPC4000
-MPC60
-Akai s950
-Ensoniq EPS Keyboard
For example, do I plug my midi out of the keyboard to midi in 1 of the XT and midi out 1 on the XT to midi in on the keyboard...so on and so forth with the rest of my equipment? I would like my keyboard to be my controller of the rest of my equipment, but sequence everything in my MPC4000 and have the XT send the MTC to keep everything in tact. Or do I have to make midi connections from my keyboard to my drum machine, then out to the Express XT? I'm just little confused about how to set this up with the XT coming into play. Prior to getting the XT, I had no problems making my midi connections. Can someone explain what routing changes need to be made in Clockworks in order to make this possible. Again, I apologize for asking such a simple question for others. I'm pretty sure If someone could just break it down for me, I'll be able to figure it out... Thanks in adavnce
