4000 vs 2000xl

ya wassup mpc addicts.im thinkin about coppin an xl right sumone told just cop a 4000.so now im torn between the xl or 4000.is the 4000 better than xl?what features does it have to set ti apart from xl.and another thing i mad beats the classic 2000 i was wunderin if i copped the 4000 will i be able to load my beats?

D all you have to do is just compare the features.......I have not used the 4k but I have heard things as far as the filters or something......different tricks you can do that the 2kxl cant so i too was thinking about it......but i may just stick to what i have.........check the 4k forums too

Check the specs, read the forums, come to a conclusion and spend your money on what you feel is the right one..

Yea just ask yourself what do you plan to do with your lmusic... me i use a computer to record and i also use a keyboard along side my mpc so i dont need a 4000. plus i really only use one program too so i have no need for a 4000 thats why i never look at one.

To have both of them synced it's the s#it!!!!

I own both, but if I had a choice, the MPC4000. Filters, sampling time, sampling rate, etc.. Pretty easy to use.

what if i cop the xl the anolog filter with it u know that filter that u stick on top of the mpc its made by akai ...will that be equvilent to the 4000.cause i herd that analog thing by akai is pretty tight when it comes to the filtering?

2kxl Vs 4k aint a battle....Its father & Son (4k being the daddy)

I agree with the other cats who tell you to know what you're looking for. But if you need to be told: get the 2000xl. I looked at the 4000 and thought it was an expensive piece of plastic. It took me so long to learn about MIDI programming that the 4000 just seems overkill. The 2000xl is very detailed and frankly I like to start with the root before moving on. I think the 4000 is a scam. Too many options, not enough hours in the day. Hats off to anyone who does know how to use a 4000, but for me there just isn't enough hours in the week to go through another akai manual. And another thing, my guess (correct me if I'm wrong). If you are using a 4000 then that's all you're using. It seemed to me that it was trying to compete with sequencing software using MPC lingo.

If you have the money then I would suggest getting the 4000.It has a full fledged sampler on board,lots of memory(512 megs),hardrive(80gig)plenty of room to grow etc...If you get the 4000 the only things you would need would be a sample source like a turntable and mixer or you can just buy sounds and you would need a midi keyboard.I have a friend who works at a music store and after hours one night(s) we sat down and sampled every single sound out of a Triton into an MPC4000.It took some time to do it but it was well worth it because it saved us from buying a Triton Rack for $1500 when all we had to do was spend a few hours to get the same sounds.We have also done this with a Motif as well.All we do is insert one of the sound disk into the CD drive load up and we are ready to go.

If you never used an MPC before it might be best to start out on a 2000xl or 1000, because the MPC4000 might be a bit overcomplicating things to a newer user, it's alot more to learn how to do and not just "get down to making beats"... if you have experience then this would be a small hurdle to overcome I assume...

i'd cop that Triton Studio over the 4000 anyday.....

for beats get the 2000xl or the 1000.

the 4000 is like having Logic on a Mac (but not as powerful...hell no).
